Breadie, Have you read Chris’ book “Personal Paleo Code” or even tried to cut grains or processed foods out of our diet? I was vegan for a short time and felt that was way more restrictive than a Paleo style diet. My autoimmune disease became much worse on a vegan diet and became better on a Paleo style diet. I just think you might want to try and read Chris’ book, before you claim Paleo is restrictive. He does believe that everyone is different and some tolerate some foods better than others. There isn’t one template that works for everyone.

I understand that life is not just about food. But emotionally I would rather take some sort of nutrition pills and not eat at all. There is something very demoralizing and humiliating about forcing yourself to eat cardboard. Maybe this is just me with my history of eating disorders. I also cook a lot for others, and for me preparing delicious and healthy food is an act of love. Purposely making something to be tasteless would feel like an act of aggression (even if it was for myself). It’s unthinkable.

I am gluten, lactose, refined sugar and potato intolerant according to tests my naturopathic doctor did after presenting with fibromyalgia and chronic insomnia. I eat better than anyone I know and yet I cannot seem to lose weight ever, even on the Whole 30! However, I no longer present with chronic pain, my sleep has improved, and overall I feel better.
