If you’re trying to lose weight, as you probably do, a healthy person should consume at least 1,200 calories per day, regardless of what their diet is. If you eat 1,200 calories, you’ll have about 4,000 calories to burn a day to meet your goal.
As in my above post its a very strict paleo diet.my typical day i have a protein shake with 1 tbls spoon of raw almonds bfast. and then lunch and dinner is a lean protein veggies steamed or salad (lettuce and tomatoes oil and vinegar ) and maybe sliced avocado. when im hungry ill eat only approved paleo food Ive cut out my apple daily as well. i sleep 10hours a day and work as a bartender witch is physical. no extra exercise.thanks Beverly

I still enjoy one cup of coffee with cream and sugar in the morning, and a glass of beer or red wine before dinner. Fruit answers my sweet cravings and a handful of almonds answers the call for salty/crunchy.
Losing weight starts in the kitchen, and what you eat is far more important than how you exercise because weight loss is 70% what you eat and 30% exercise. You can exercise daily and not see the scale move if your diet is not spot on.
Drink massive quantities of water and as much unsweetened iced tea, tea, diet sodas, coffee (without white cream), or other no-calorie/low-calorie beverages as you like. Do not drink milk, normal soft drinks, or fruit juice. I’m a wine fanatic and have at least one glass of wine each evening, which I believe actually aids sports recovery and fat-loss. Recent research into resveratrol supports this.
Stock your pantry and refrigerator with healthy foods. Get rid of the high-calorie, low-nutrition snacks like chips and candy. But don’t forget to have plenty of healthier options available as well, such as popcorn (hold the butter, try Parmesan cheese sprinkles), low-fat cheese and yogurt, fruit, instant cocoa without added sugar, sugar-free popsicles or puddings, or whatever appeals to you when you’re hungry for a snack.
So it’s probably quite clear now, that I have very little knowledge of the science behind my diet and exercise plan, but I do know that it works for me, and I hope it helps some of you to achieve some good results!
In order to lose weight, you should eat every 2-3 hours so your body does not get hungry and start storing fat. If your body knows you will be eating every 2-3 hours it will stop storing fat as long as you are not taking in too much fat. The water intake is good. Also, you should try to exercise at least 3-5 times per week. It sounds like from what I read that you are not taking in enough food and calories especially if you are breastfeeding. You may want to check with your doctor and find out how many calories you should be taking in when breastfeeding so the baby gets all the nutrients and you also will get the nutrients. If the baby takes everything, this could have an effect on your body especially your bones if you are not receiving enough calcium. Good luck!

For very long time i believed, like most of us, that more calories in more fat you are, but it’s wrong. I have tried to change my diet and i have verified that’s wrong. Like you said the weight loss is spontaneous, even without doing sport if you eat right you loose weight.
I’m not eating comfort foods or any kind of potatoes. I’m not over eating and not starving. I move around a lot during the day so not sedentary. I rarely eat nuts and no seeds other than a little bit of tahini on my salad with homemade oil and vinegar dressing used sparsely. I don’t eat bacon and rarely avocado. I don’t eat a lot of fruit either. This is my second time around doing a Paleo diet and my weight is going up and down like a yo yo. I went down 2 lbs in 2 weeks and now I am up to where my weight loss is about .8 from where I started the diet. It is extremely frustrating considering my husband lost about 6 lbs on the diet and he is eating nuts and peanut butter with apple snacks and more food than I am.

Meat is a very important part. Lets not get into details, but being vegetarian is very unhealthy and harmful. Believe it or not. Try to eat at least wild caught fish twice a week. It can mean all the difference between a healthy diet and an unhealthy one.

I have been doing paleo for 2 1/2 months- I love to cook and have been enjoying homemade almond bread and muffins-paleo pancakes and other bread subsitutues. I also enjoy my red wine. Now that I feel like I can live a paleo lifestyle I would like to modify my program for weightloss- obviously cutting out the bread substitute and wine will help but is there a 30 day recipe book to help plan lower calorie paleo meals for weightloss?
