My concern now is I stopped taking the PGX and had a few cheats such as paleo dessert a couple weeks ago when I hosted a party,and last week I had more fruit than normal…I also increased my exercise. Day 46- I now am only at a 3 pound loss and weigh 132.4 lbs. I just don’t understand why I have gained 4.4 pounds back? It is all very frustrating to me. I am 55 and have been eating Paleo for 6 months. My initial weight loss occurred after 1 month. The change, which is most important to me, is how I feel… Healthier over all, energetic, more muscle and less fat. My hair and skin are much more youthful as well. I have seen gradual improvement, which I like. It takes some time, to undo the damage done by years of eating grains. And I feel grains are the major culprit in causing all the issues I had with my health.
If I eat wheat or an overload of fructose, I get anxious and depressed. I don’t want to be anxious and depressed. It’s as easy as that. being said, with the exception of wheat products, if there is crap in the house, I will eat it. So, I go grocery shopping first thing in the morning when my “willpower” is at its highest and I don’t buy any junk food or treats. That way it’s not in the house. Makes things so much easier. I’m also lucky that my kids are young enough that they aren’t buying things yet and my husband also has a wheat intolerance, so he doesn’t bring stuff into the house either.

I would think that any non-starchy vegetable would be ok. I think Tim’s point is that his diet is a no-brainer. He probably has almost the same exact grocery list from week to week. You’ve got the gist, though.
Meal prep makes remaining Paleo much easier, as I have recently learned first hand. Back when Paleo and Crossfit was somewhat new, I followed both regimes and reaped the rewards. I stopped, and went to “hell” again. I’m back, have incorporated meal prep, and I am confident that I will be able to remain unstoppable.
You could also “make your own version” of the Paleo diet. If you don’t want to, don’t exclude grain products but try to limit processed foods like fake meats, pizzas, maybe white bread? Just bring more variation by adding more vegetables and fruits to your diet (eggs if you’re not vegan) and limiting added sugar, instead of limiting grain products. No one says you have to be 100% strict Paleo to see positive results, there’s a lot of people who don’t exclude dairy or beans from their Paleo diet
