Actually, if you read Tim’s book he talks about how eating more protein and healthy fats can help you get over your plateau. He advises eating one more egg in the morning as an example. I would also add oil and vinegar to your salad as dressing to add healthy fats. I don’t think cutting down the already low cal meals your eating would help. Read Tim’s book for some more ideas. 🙂

I’ve been intrigued by the Roberts/Guyenet approach, but honestly what they are suggesting sounds like punishment. it’s one thing to eat simply, but no salt on your meat? Getting your fat from plain MCT oil? Going this far to reduce palatability sounds really depressing and reminds me of how I used to treat myself when I had a severe eating disorder many years ago. Are you able to still feel joy and delight in life while eating like this? Because if not, I don’t think it’s healthy regardless of whether you lose weight. I’m curious about your experience though, so thanks for posting.

Mina I don’t think you’re eatIng enough calories and your body is thinking you are starving it, so it is storing everything you eat. You need to eat more often or more food (one apple for lunch?!?!) along with doing a little exercise. This will get your metabolism up.

It gave me the right motivation. I did have a question.. How much calories should I be eating some calculators tell me 2,000 some tell me 1,200. I currently weight 185 pounds 5’2″ in height. I am having a very hard time losing fat. I don’t want to say weight because it doesn’t matter but if I am losing fat my clothes should feel lose and not the same. I crossfit 4-5 times a week.

I go to the gym at 5AM 3 times during the week and then I go on Saturday mornings at 9AM.
