“why am i not losing weight on hcg diet not losing weight on the hcg diet”

Every few months or so, a celebrity will make headlines by adopting a vegan diet and singing its praises. This is nothing new, and most of the time it isn’t really news, either. But when several world class athletes claim that going vegan has improved their game, increased their athleticism, and (drumroll) led to modest amounts of weight loss, the world takes Jess, I want to loose weight and my partner with his ridiculously fast metabolism needs to gain weight – any suggestions of what I can add in to his meals to achieve this? He believes he needs a bucket load of processed carbs but I beg to differ as I want to avoid this.

I agree that if you’re not achieving your weight loss goals, you should definitely take the time to reevaluate current patterns and try new things, as the article suggests. I disagree with your assumption that all diets are equally effective and that the onus for success rests solely on now hard an individual is willing to work. This thinking is outdated. We know now that our ability to burn fat is highly individual and some of us need to minimize insulin and other lipotrophic hormones as much as possible in order to lose weight. Have you read Why We Get Fat: And What to Do About It by Gary Taubes? It’s fascinating and I bet you won’t be able to put it down.

I have no consequences, I’m lean and fit and have plenty of energy for workouts. My complaint with the articles is that it claims Paleo is easy and natural for everybody and that is just not the case.

Figure out your underlying issues by taking stock of your body. What symptoms do you experience? When? For how long?  How long have you had them? Take your answers to google and to the doctor. Get some tests done. Paleo is fantastic for healing, but a more targeted approach can help heal you all the faster.

Green beans are starchy. Try cutting them out for a while and cut the cottage cheese. Make sure that your first meal is 30g of protein (which yours would not be). Also, you should be measuring progress in terms of inch loss or body fat percentage loss as opposed to weight. Scales are not an accurate assessment of your health.

Contrary to popular belief, potatoes are a great food for helping you lose weight. It’s what we put on top of our potatoes – butter, cheese, and bacon bits – that turn them into waistline-busting foods.

I am hungry all the time and want to snack a lot. In order for me to stick with a diet, I need an exact meal by meal plan. It’s hard for me to stick with diets as well, for the fact that I have 4 kids. (exercise is hard because my youngest, 6month old, is very clingy and with back issues I can not work out holding her. We live in the country and I want to go for walks, but we have mountain lions as well as coyotes, so the treadmill will have to be my source.) So, this plan seems like the one that doesn’t seem too tough, just need a cheap, simple meal plan (another hard thing is the fact that my husband does not eat chicken.) we are ranchers so we have a lot of beef! Thanks for any advice.

Nataya – Um, yes, I have no idea where you are getting your information from but it is clearly not from any peer reviewed journals. I think you would benefit from reading up a bit on the latest information on saturated fat and heart disease, http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2824152/,

I started paleo 3 weeks ago, high fat, low carb, moderate protein. In these 3 weeks I have lost and gained the same 5 lbs and today weigh what I weighed 3 weeks ago. I have had my thyroid checked as well as a basic blood panel and everything was normal. I suspect the high fat is the culprit. The reason Is because about 6 months ago I tried the Dukan diet which is basically low fat, all meat. I lost about 30lbs in 5 weeks. (Which I gained back after going back to junk food)

Hi everyone I have been on the paleo diet now for 2 weeks I have lost about 6 pounds but am now gaining a bit of weight but I know why I started at the gym so doing more fitness when u train your muscles grow ie you put on weight the diet isn’t about loseing weight it’s about eating more healthy the losing waight is a bonus

Chipotle Chicken Lettuce Wraps – After such a filling breakfast you won’t need much to keep yourself feeling good, and these chicken wraps have just the right spice to satisfy. Wrapping it up in lettuce skips the need for a grain-filled wrap so you’ll have an easier time digesting these after lunch. On the Paleo diet you’ll notice that you don’t have those mid-afternoon snooze sessions that you did before.

And you don’t think food kills you? I had a stroke because I had a silent inflammation caused by gluten in bread goods, two examples here, my sister is size 8 very slender, eats what she wants and is a smoker, I on the other hand eat healthy but until I changed my diet I was always overweight and always poorly.

Get very good at calorie counting and serving sizes. It’ll be tough to calculate everything in the beginning, but after a while it’ll seem like second-nature. Be religious about estimating how many calories are in a certain food or meal. Be accurate! Lying to yourself isn’t worth it if the only one you’re hurting is you.

Have a choice between riding and climbing? Including 2 to 3 minutes of stair climbing per day—covering about three to five floors—can burn enough calories to eliminate the average American’s annual weight gain of 1 to 2 pounds a year. It’s also good for more than just your waistline: Men who climbed more than 70 flights of stairs a week had 18% lower mortality rates than those who climbed fewer than 20 flights a week, according to one Harvard study. Start with just a couple of flights a day; if you’re already a dedicated climber, aim to add three more flights to your daily trek.

Season with salt, pepper curry, parsley, if desired, or bouillon, hot or Worcestershire sauce. Cut veggies in small to medium pieces. Cover with water. Boil fast for 10 minutes. Reduce to simmer and continue to cook until vegetables are tender.

Just surfin’ and found this site. I wanted to post that I’ve been losing weight with no exercise since late January. Due to fibromyalgia, my pain levels skyrocket when I exercise and I end up in worse health than if I do nothing to begin with. Exercise is my nemesis! 😉 Since January, I’m down 11 pounds while still being able to eat the foods I like and prepare for my family. I use http://www.fitday.com to record my calorie intake (the key = be HONEST in recording your food intake…no matter how many mistakes you make!!!). Check it out…it’s awesome. You can do an online search to find calculators for learning your BMI, BMR, and the Harris-Benedict Equation. These calculators will tell you what you need to know. Losing weight with no exercise is a SLOW process…don’t get discouraged! It works though. This is the first time in my adult life that I’ve tried to lose weight and am succeeding. I’m 37 years old and now weigh 231 lbs. after losing 11 lbs.

When Gwyneth Paltrow was filming Shallow Hal she put on her fat suit and walked through the lobby of the hotel to measure people’s reactions. She said in an interview, “It was so sad; disturbing. No one would make eye contact with me because I was obese. I felt humiliated because people were really dismissive.” Being a slim woman at the time, I remember reading this article and thinking about how sad that must be for those who suffer from obesity. Now I know first hand.

I know that, “You’re exercising too much to lose weight” may sound counterintuitive, but I actually see this phenomenon a lot, and it happens to me personally. If I exercise too much, I gain weight. It happened when I started doing CrossFit last year, and as soon as I stopped CrossFit, I lost the weight. If you’re exercising more than 3 days a week, I’d ratchet it down to 3 days a week – or even less if you have diagnosed adrenal issues – for a while and see how that goes.

Whole grains such as brown rice, barley, oats, buckwheat, and whole wheat also belong in your stealthy weight loss strategy. They help fill you up with fewer calories and may improve your cholesterol, too. Whole grains are now in many products including waffles, pizza crust, English muffins, pasta, and soft “white” whole-wheat bread.

When I go on a low fat diet, with not so many ‘heavy’ foods, I end up needing more carbs to calm my appetite, and this helps dry my body, but I can tell my body is not happy being on carbs as primary fuel, something feels off. I don’t lose any weight either.

I had a thyroidectomy in Oct 2013. I’m 45 and was told that I had hosimotos an autoimmune disease then a few weeks later told I had Hurthel cell cancer. I agreed to have my thyroid removed and found out weeks later that it was no cancerous. Now I’m dealing with extreme fatigue and I’ve gained approx 20 lbs since October. I’m afraid to step on the scale to see for sure. I use to run 5 and 10 km races and also run 1/2 marathons. Now it takes everything for me to get energy to do anything I just want to sleep. The doctors are playing the lets adjust your medication game and it could take awhile before they find the right dosage. Without a thyroid I basically have no metabolism which makes it very hard to lose weight. I’m hoping by cutting out all the bad carbs and sugars from my diet it will help build up some sort of energy for me. A friend from work was talking about the Paleo diet so I decided to do some research. It looks like something I could do . I’m looking forward to picking up your book later today, cleaning out my cupboards/ fridge and starting my new journey. 30 days to a cleaner healthier me 🙂

  1. My repeated dieting eventually caught up with me, as this research would predict. When I was in graduate school and under a lot of stress, I started binge eating. I would finish a carton of ice cream or a box of saltines with butter, usually at 3 a.m. The urge to keep eating was intense, even after I had made myself sick. Fortunately, when the stress eased, I was able to stop. At the time, I felt terrible about being out of control, but now I know that binge eating is a common mammalian response to starvation.
