“what is the best diet for losing weight diet lose weight quick”

Exercise is simply a brisk walk for 45 to 60 minutes per day. Also golf once or twice a week. I am a 57 year old female who would like to lose another 21 pounds. My advice is to go easy and keep loving your body! It works hard for you. Good luck everyone!

“The promise of rapid weight loss may be motivating for some. Yet, because the diet is so strict and lacks variety, it is unlikely to be sustainable and people who come of it may gain weight very quickly.

I love your regimen. I am 5ft 6ins and weighs 140lb. Most of the weight is in my stomach. I do not know if this diet would help my stomach or will it take fat off of my entire body. I don’t want to loose weight from any other part of my body because I am skinny as people would say. Do you think that I can loose the fat off of my stomach from this diet? Please advise.

FYI I have tried the HCG – couldn’t get past the first day on that, done the BFL diet, The Atkins, The Nutrisystem of which only the BFL worked for me in the past but I didnt keep it up because of a back surgery which prevented me from lifting the weights. Now I am desperate to rid this excess fat and weight and look normal again!

I am curious of the work out options on here. I’m a female and I like my weight but I need to lean up quickly( 7 weeks). I need to replace about 15 pines of fat to 5 pounds of muscle, I am religiously the diet, started last week, but it doesn’t say how much cardio/strength training needs to be done. I do Zumba for about 45 minutes 3x a week and love it and weights 2x a week, and I’m middle Easter and love hummus! Any thoughts?

WAYHOME studio/ShutterstockTaste, smell, and sight are all considered hugely important when it comes to eating, but another sense could be making a difference in whether or not you overeat, according to a study done by Brigham Young University. “Sound is typically labeled as the forgotten food sense,” explained Ryan Elder, PhD, an assistant professor of marketing at BYU’s Marriott School of Management and co-author of the paper. “When you mask the sound of consumption, like when you watch TV while eating, you take away one of those senses, and it may cause you to eat more than you would normally. The effects many not seem huge but over the course of a week, month, or year, it could really add up.” His advice? Turn off the TV, radio, music, and other noise, and focus on the melodic tones of crunching, slurping, and satisfied sighs.

I don’t know if you are following up on these comments about a year later, but check out Paleo for Women .com. Stefani Ruper is the best and you probably aren’t eating enough dense carbs and calories overall, is what I would guess she’d say. I hope you see this and try her website.

Fast for 14 hours a day. Try to eat dinner earlier in the day and then fast until breakfast the next morning. Eating only when you’re most active and giving your digestion a long break may aid weight loss.

Savory Breakfast Muffins – Muffins don’t have to be sweet, and these use eggs as their main ingredients so it’s breakfast in muffin form. The best part is that they have the portability of a muffin, so you can grab one and go on your way without having to sit down to a formal breakfast. Toss one on a paper towel and you don’t even need a plate and you’ll have a napkin ready when you’re done.

Control Your Environments. Another simple strategy to help cut calories is to control your environment — everything from stocking your kitchen with lots of healthy options to choosing the right restaurants. That means avoiding the temptation by staying away from all-you-can-eat restaurants. And when it comes to parties, “eat a healthy snack before so you won’t be starving, and be selective when you fill your plate at the buffet,” suggests Ward. Before going back for more food, wait at least 15 minutes and have a big glass of water.

My concern now is I stopped taking the PGX and had a few cheats such as paleo dessert a couple weeks ago when I hosted a party, and last week I had more fruit than normal…I also increased my exercise. Day 46- I now am only at a 3 pound loss and weigh 132.4 lbs. I just don’t understand why I have gained 4.4 pounds back? It is all very frustrating to me. I stick to eating meat, vegetables, nuts, seeds, minimal fruit…

Life’s too short to spend it doing stuff that’s just not necessary. But you DO need to fix your diet. If you are overwhelmed already with the idea of changing how you eat, counting calories, and how you can make progress in a way that doesn’t scare you.

Staying motivated to lose weight can be tough, but it’s key to weight loss. When we skip a workout or overeat and use the dreaded words “I’ll start again on Monday” or “I’ll start again tomorrow” we are missing a great opportunity to learn and move on, to hit our reset buttons. The single most important lesson I can teach you about weight loss is that everyone messes up. It’s the people who mess up and get over it (aka: hit their reset button) that succeed.

Size doesn’t matter: I’m in sports training right now and my heart’s big once again. The size of the heart is not a concern. I’m an autopsy pathologist, and 100% of obese people have enlarged hearts simply from carrying the weight. Ditto if you’re doing serious athletics. A large heart is no more a liability than a weight-lifter’s big biceps — it’s what the enlargement is a marker for. Big or not, you’ve done well. …Read more

But within five minutes of speaking with Petronella Ravenshear (the Metabolic Balance nutritionist advising me on my #StellaShapeUp plan) she was able to assess the problem: my metabolism doesn’t work.

This is so true! I use this diet to kick start a period of healthier eating. It is pretty low carb. I usually do keto eating afterwards, but I alternate days of very few carbs with “healthy carb days”, so my hormones don’t get too grumpy. 2-3 days of keto eating, then 1-2 days of healthy carbs. It works for me. It makes me get off of processed junkfood- no white flour and sugar. The soup is a great tool for anyone trying to eat keto. You can have as much of it as you want. The soup keeps for like a week, since it doesn’t have meat. It’s cheap, healthy and delicious.

I am on day two of Paleo and after reading the comments here I feel I must be doing something wrong. I have cut out most sources of carbs but still east fruit and sweet potato, I don’t feel hungry or tired at all (which is actually an improvement for me), in fact I feel full after every meal and haven’t found it difficult to stick to the diet. I run and gym at least 5 days a week anyway so I am continuing to exercise.

I have been on the paleo diet 3 weeks now. I lost 8 pounds the first two weeks. I have been exercising 6 days a week and just started training with a personal trainer with weight lifting and gained some weight back (muscle) that’s normal. Stick with it. I lost 5 pounds the first week.

Well, the requirement of every individual is different, and a diet for effective weight loss should be based on several factors such as activity level, age, sex, weight, height, metabolism and medical condition. Therefore, it is best to calculate your BMR (Basal Metabolic rate) that will help determine the minimum calorie requirement of your body.

I am not sure if Taye on her January 17 querry got the right help. I have a diabetic condition and use ACV to manage my sugar levels. I however realised that when mixed with medication for diabetes it can lead to hypoglycemia. I recently googled symptoms of hypoglycemia and one of them is having nightmares. So Taye might be having very low levels of glucose due to ACV and possibly condition that does not correct the low levels i.e. diabetic condition or other condition

Last week Petronella diagnosed that I have killed my metabolism, which means that anything I eat is going to stick to my body. On a print-out from her special machine the bar that represents metabolism on a scale from 0-100 per cent showed that my metabolism is only at five per cent. I broke down crying when I saw it.

So as tedious as this one step might seem,  it is an important step for both weight loss and maintenance later on and it holds everything together. Having a meal plan helps you manage plateaus while keeping you motivated. In the long run you’ve studied for your new healthy lifestyle and for your new figure. It makes it easier to maintain your weight loss diet when you have done the studying. So don’t skip this step, you’re studying for the most important test of your life… your health.

Spiced Apples Baked in Brandy – A sweet and spicy dessert infused with the flavor of brandy, but without the alcohol. It works nicely as a finisher to the meal described above, and is also a great dessert to serve up to impress your friends. You don’t even have to mention you’re doing the Paleo diet, as this is a dessert that no one will suspect is diet food.

When you give it some thought, it makes good sense that drinking apple cider vinegar before meals would help with weight loss. Apples are a good source of pectin, and including pectin in your diet can make you feel fuller and more satisfied. Since apple cider vinegar contains the same amount of pectin as apples (one apple has about 1.5 grams pectin), it can suppress your appetite in a similar way.

The “keep it simple” recommendation hits home for me. After a successful first year eating whole foods/paleo, weight started creeping back on. I *thought* I hadn’t changed anything, but then realized that my efforts to improve my culinary skills (scrumptious pan sauces, fancy soups and probably more added fats than needed) might be the culprit. Along with just too much food. I’m returning to how I did paleo-ish (I include cultured dairy) the first time around (more straightforward, easier food prep) and will reserve the fancy stuff for less frequent indulgences. I mean, indulgence does infer infrequency, right?

For the most part, fruits are very nutritious and Paleo. However, some people eat way too many fruits on Paleo (perhaps because fruits are sweet). Also, remember that fruit juices (and for the most part dried fruits) are not really Paleo and should be avoided! If you’re having trouble losing weight on Paleo, then you might want to cut back on fruits.

Thanks for the great article. I didn’t knew about these wonderful benefits of Apple Cider Vinegar, I am definitely going to take it before meals as suggested in the article. I have recently decided to lose some weight and I was able to succeed too due doing research on these foods. What also really helped was reading “The Fat Burning Kitchen.” I am sure it will provide tremendous value to anyone who is looking forward to losing some weight by eating the right kinds of food.

However, farmers’ markets often have well-priced meats, eggs, fruits, and vegetables that are locally grown and incredibly healthy.  Even if you’re spending a little more money than before, when you factor in your overall health, spending a few extra bucks on healthier food now is a wiser investment than thousands later on costly medical expenses.

* Though this author recommends 1 to 2 teaspoons of ACV per cup of water, other sources call for 1 tablespoon per cup of water or other liquid, and that seems to be what VegKitchen readers have found most effective.

If you’re eating over 100g a day and you’re not really working out at all, then you may be getting too many carbs. If that’s the case, then you can start experimenting with eating fewer carbs – less fruit, sweet potatoes, Paleo sweets, non-Paleo sweets 😉 Too many carbs will quickly put extra fat on you if you’re not using those carbs up. By the way, the 100 grams I just referenced is a very rough number, and everyone is different.

The HMR Program uses meal replacements – think low-calorie shakes, meals, nutrition bars and hot cereal – in phases, coaching from experts, physical activity and an emphasis on fruits and vegetables to help dieters shed pounds fast. The plan is “very effective” in this measure, one expert said, adding that “the diet has improved over the years to incorporate a program to maintain the short-term weight loss.” Just be prepared to say no to most restaurant invites and to potentially tire of pre-made foods.

When you follow a liquid diet, you’ll replace all or most of your meals with commercial protein powder shakes. These shakes, which you can buy pre-made or make yourself using commercial protein powder along with juice, milk or water, also contain vitamins and minerals that will help you maintain your nutritional needs while you’re losing weight. You can choose the liquid-only approach, in which you’ll drink shakes three or four times per day, or you can decide to replace only breakfast and lunch with the shakes. If you choose the second option, you’ll eat a small, low-fat dinner each evening.
