Researchers found that people who ate in open concept areas—like the kitchen/great room in most new homes today—ate more food than those who ate in a separate room. Being able to see the extra food and having such easy access to it encourages people to eat more, even if they’d already eaten until they were full.
“You would be amazed how many calories you consume without paying attention, especially from tray-passed foods and buffets at parties or get-togethers,” Saltz says. Mindless eating is the enemy of weight loss. Studies out of Cornell University’s Food and Brand Lab show we unconsciously eat more out of bigger containers, and in social situations. “If you’re sitting down at a table, though, you will be more mindful of what you are eating and keep extra calories from sneaking in from tray-passed snacks and buffet food,” she says. To reduce temptation even more, sit further away from the food.

I have been Paleo for 1 fill week now …I went 99% paleo, No cheating (except the 1st day). My weakness is wine. I drink Moscato, I switched and start drinking red. But i drink 2-3 glasses a day. Can you still loose the weight you need to drinking wine everyday!!

I started Paleo 3days ago. They call the first week “hell week” but I am loving it. I have no cravings and feel fantastic. I have already lost 4 lbs! No sugar. No grains. No coffee! Lol I replaced it with chai tea with vanilla almond milk 🙂 I’m excited and plan to stay on it as a lifestyle change!
Dana, it has taken me just over 2 years to loe 50 pounds. I’m still losing but very slowly — which is good, not bad, because I’m establishing habits that will be with me the rest of my life, and losing slowly keeps the metabolism from feeling as if it’s starving, So now I’m eating the fats and proteins that enable me to make healthy cells and my body’s critical biochemicals like enzymes, without which I wouldn’t be so healthy.
