Eat more often. If you eat 5-6 times a day, it could keep hunger at bay. You could split your calories equally across all of those mini-meals, or make some bigger than others. You will need to plan portions so that you don’t end up eating more than you bargained for.
I love it! This is what my Mom has always told me to do and is her secret weapon in maintaining a nice physique. She also tries to walk 3 miles every day. But the dancing is a fun way to help with building muscles and burning fat. Have you ever gone to a wedding, danced hard and then woke up sore the next morning? Think about it….

I just ordered your book on Amazon. I eat Paleo and have lost quite a bit of weight over the last year. I used to run a lot, but I found training for my last half marathon was taxing and stalled my weight loss. I am leaning towards strength exercise and less cardio (shorter runs). I like the Jillian Michaels Body Revolution Program. I did it a few years ago. Do you think this program will help or hurt my continued weight loss, leaning out, efforts? It is 6 days a week, 30 minutes each, consisting of 4 strength workouts and 2 cardio workouts. I tend to be the kind of person who needs a regimented routine so having a program just helps. What do you think?
Make a calorie chart and start listing things you have eaten in a day and then count the calories. This will make you aware of the calories present in the food so that you may take the exact amount of calories needed by your body.

This is an awesome menu. We have been working on eating “real” since October. We are both feeling great and my hubby has lost 30 pounds. I didn’t need to lose anything so have worked hard to keep the weight on and actually now have gained some pounds.

Those following the Whole30 diet give up sugar, artificial sweeteners, grains, dairy, legumes, and alcohol for 30 loooooong days. That means the vast majority of packaged foods—from cookies to ketchup—are out, as is your nightly glass of red wine. Foods that are typically considered pretty darn good-for-you, like quinoa, hummus, and Greek yogurt, are also no-gos.

I have questions about the Paleo way of life if you can call it that or prefer the term diet I don’t know, but I cannot seem to locate a message board or discussion group. Only finding blogs. I know this works to lose weight, my boss who has a discussion board/support group for Paleo dieters or cave people as she calls it, but she pays $425 a month!!!! She’s a veterinarian, she can afford it. She started in February 2014 and by July had lost 52 pounds without exercising just occasional short walks. She takes no supplements. She has been taken off her diabetic medicine too UNREAL! I would’ve started at the same time she did, but I was pregnant then.

A body of research out of Pennsylvania State University finds that eating water-rich foods such as zucchini, tomatoes, and cucumbers during meals reduces your overall calorie consumption. Because the body processes hunger and thirst through different mechanisms, it simply doesn’t register a sense of fullness with water (or soda, tea, coffee, or juice). I see a lot of your diets here, unfortunately most of you will experience the same problem, once your body gets used to the diet plan you are on, it will stop burning fat, so if you can work out 2 meal plans stretching over 2 weeks each, one that you are on now (consisting of beans ect.) and then a stricter one that you have to also cut the following food out, NO beans, corn, Patatoes, any high sugar fruits (best to eat is watermelons, grapefruits ect, NO bananas, apples, grapes ect).
What to try? Eliminate food with added sugar in the labels ingredients list, this includes (sugar, sucrose, fructose, HFCS, inverted sugar, molasses, honey, maple syrup, raw sugar etc) and then check the nutrition list and do not purchase any that show sugars above 4% by weight or volume.

Willett, chair of the Department of Nutrition at the Harvard School of Public Health, said about this paleo food, “Nutritionists and diet books alike often call potatoes a ‘perfect food. But although eating potatoes on a daily basis may be fine for lean people who exercise a lot or who do regular manual labor, [e.g. hunting and gathering], for everyone else potatoes should be an occasional food consumed in modest amounts, not a daily vegetable. The venerable baked potato increases levels of blood sugar and insulin more quickly and to higher levels than an equal amount of calories from pure table sugar.”

Instead, try to limit these foods to meal-time. If you love having your daily serve of cashews but can’t stop reaching your hand in the bag, have a serving on top of your salad for a crunchy fix. If you notice having potatoes (technically paleo!) fuels your cravings, switch them out for something less “cozy” like beets or swede.
