The minimum amount of fat for someone on a low fat diet is still about 30 grams a day, or 10 grams a meal. Fat is crucial for building hormones and maintaining healthy brain and cellular function. Good fats to eat are olive oil, coconut oil, avocadoes, and butter or ghee (clarified butter – this is my favorite one.)
As far as the protein goes, I am eating fish, eggs, and protein powder. I don’t eat chicken, beef, pork… so those are my swaps, hoping it wont mess anything up. I just had my gall bladder out, so my system is a bit touchy. I had beans all week, and it’s been rough. I have a hi protein, hi fiber, low carb, organic whole grain bread that I may try swapping for the beans a few times this week. (only 2 net carbs) I hope it goes alright, I don’t see why not?
I am allergic to tomatoes, all citrus and numerous other things in your plan. I also do not eat a lot of meat and don’t want to start. Is this diet based on the food items you eat together or is it as long as you eat natural foods w/o the wheat, dairy, sugar ect? I am on a low fixed income so have to limit my grocery bill also. Anyone who wants to give their thoughts, I would appreciate it.
