I agree… Its nothing but a jumpstart to motivate you to lose weight and keep going…and trust me… 10 pounds in a week was alot of motivation for me. I did the cabbage soup diet. They are all the same. But i do it for a week then off for two weeks… Maintaining well!!!

Karen, thanks for your reply. I’m a little curious a to how you discovered that gut dysbiosis was the root cause of your problems? What type of treatment provider administered the fecal transplant – a medical doctor or ? Also, I’m wondering about the orange juice. I’m very against drinking your calories and normally consider it more beneficial to eat the whole fruit to also get the fibers – if you allow yourself to eat fruit at all.
Listen, the concept is quite simple and you only really need to know one thing. The more soup you eat, the more lbs you will lose. The more you cheat or divert by changing ingredients on the days, the less you will lose.
You may find a lot of products that claim to make you lose 20 or even 30 pounds in a month just to attract you. Before trusting any such brand or wasting money on such useless products you need to know how much weight you can lose in a month.

you drop weight really quick with this diet due to water loss in the first week. Carbohydrates are stored as glycogen in the liver. An easy way to think about it is glycogen ‘holds’ water. So, if you eat fewer carbs, you store fewer carbs as glycogen and your body ‘holds’ less water. Which means…you’ll lose a lot of weight the first few days and then it levels out to a lb or 2 a week (more if you’re more disciplined and have a good fitness plan or have an easy body type for losing weight). don’t lose more 3 or 4 a week at that level chances are you’re dropping muscle.
I have been on Paleo for about 15 months. The first two months I lost 15 pounds (after I had already lost 10 pounds the hard way). I maintained my weight for about 9 months then I gained 5 pounds. I have been trying so hard to lose those five pounds but instead I gained another 2! I am still following Paleo diligently and working out 5 or 6 days a week so I am super frustrated! I thought that I would at least maintain my weight by following this eating plan and didn’t expect to lose anymore, but I certainly didn’t expect to gain! I don’t know if anybody else has dealt with weight gain on Paleo. There isn’t much more I can cut out of my diet! I am very conscious of the calories I’m consuming which really irritates me since I was lead to believe that if you follow Paleo there is no calorie counting and you can eat as much as you want (which I never do anyway).
