Hi, For those of you who are struggling to lose weight on Paleo, I just wanted to share my experience – I know everyone is different but I have had a lot of success with my plan and hopefully it can help you.
5.Choose healthier cooking techniques. Don’t sabotage the best of intentions with poor preparation methods. Cooking methods that use a lot of oil, butter, or other high-fat sauces or seasonings may cause your weight loss to plateau or slow.
I did the Bulletproof Coffee thing (butter, coffee, MCT) in the mornings as ‘breakfast’ until then eating lunch around noon. Maybe in addition to having eaten too many other calories, I gained weight like crazy and can’t get it off.
For one thing, exercise improves insulin sensitivity. This effect, more than any calories burned during the workout itself, might be the main reason why exercise is such a powerful therapy for weight loss. Exercise is a powerful therapy for any kind of carbohydrate intolerance that might be sabotaging your weight-loss efforts.
With these revelations, if you are opting to lose* huge amount of weight and achieve your ideal body shape, do not opt for Paleo diet since it might not have effective results in your body. Losing weight is not as easy and quickly as a snap, you have to work hard on it. You must exercise and eat the RIGHT kinds and amount of food.

Research shows that a Paleo diet is more satiating per calorie than both a Mediterranean diet and a low-fat diet. That means it’s more filling for the same number of calories compared to other popular diet methods. This is crucial for weight loss, since it helps you eat less without fighting hunger or counting calories. As I mentioned before, if you’re constantly fighting hunger, your brain will respond by reducing your metabolic rate and increasing your appetite.
I have been looking for a healthy way of eating after finally coming to terms with sudden weight gain. I have gained 27lbs within the last 2 years, (from 138 to 165) and frankly, I would rather lose it than buy new clothing. I went o the gym 5 days a week for 3 weeks with only a 2lb loss to show for it.
So I’m currently losing following more traditional techniques of weight loss (with weekly success) and plan to switch to a more paleo diet once I reached my target weight as I do believe in the health principals of this way of eating.
A Paleo template should be based on a foundation of real food, instead of reincarnations of baked goods from the standard American diet. The popularity of sweets in our culture has resulted in a Paleo-sphere that is over-flowing with an abundance of delicious, mouth-watering dessert recipes. Although these treats are made with acceptable Paleo ingredients, they are not necessarily health-promoting or helpful to weight loss efforts. The energy-dense nut flours and large amounts of natural sugars that these treats contain can be detrimental to weight loss efforts and they leave less room for the consumption of nutrient-dense, whole foods that supply the body with nutrients that it needs. Treats can help to ease the transition to a Paleo lifestyle and it may be okay to enjoy them on an occasional basis. But if weight loss is your primary goal, you may want to consider how much of your diet is based on real food versus Paleo treats.
Limit saturated fat and trans fat and replace them with the better fats, monounsaturated and polyunsaturated. If you need to lower your blood cholesterol, reduce saturated fat to no more than 5 to 6 percent of total calories. For someone eating 2,000 calories a day, that’s about 13 grams of saturated fat.

Your brain lags your stomach by about 20 minutes when it comes to satiety (fullness) signals. If you eat slowly enough, your brain will catch up to tell you that you are no longer in need of food. Dinner is usually a bit smaller than lunch, since my lunch is substantial. But still, dinner is some kind of protein and veggies- either a cooked vegetable or large salad. Again, I get very full. Oh, I’ll use avocado, coconut oil, fermented butter (I live in Germany and traditionally they’re not shy about fat options), yogurt, sour cream, raw cheese and the like so I ensure I get enough fat. So, of course it doesn’t take that much quantity to feel really sated.
Diet diary: Despite looking in five food shops, I couldn’t find the particular rye bread that Petronella recommended I eat for breakfast. Not knowing what to do meant I quickly I fell into old habits and started skipping breakfast all together.
Hi everyone I have been on the paleo diet now for 2 weeks I have lost about 6 pounds but am now gaining a bit of weight but I know why I started at the gym so doing more fitness when u train your muscles grow ie you put on weight the diet isn’t about loseing weight it’s about eating more healthy the losing waight is a bonus
I see a lot of your diets here, unfortunately most of you will experience the same problem, once your body gets used to the diet plan you are on, it will stop burning fat, so if you can work out 2 meal plans stretching over 2 weeks each, one that you are on now (consisting of beans ect.) and then a stricter one that you have to also cut the following food out, NO beans, corn, Patatoes, any high sugar fruits (best to eat is watermelons, grapefruits ect, NO bananas, apples, grapes ect).
