I don’t like keeping track of how much I’ve eaten or obsessing over how many grams of a particular nutrient I’ve had. Vegetables are key in weight loss. I know that’s not what you want to hear but it’s true. Luckily on the Lose Weight By Eating site we use hidden veggies to cut calories and trick your taste buds and make it easy to eat veggies. I hide veggies in recipes like Chicken Fajitas, Mac and Cheese and Chili Cheese Omelets, so try a few and have an open mind. These recipes are all “picky eaters” approved, making them perfect for your whole family.

Make sure you’re getting 8 hours a night (seriously) in a dark room with no noise. If you need to, wear ear plugs and/or an eye mask. Or sleep in a room where there’s no snoring spouse. You should check into “Trim Healthy Mama”. Then morph those principals into your current program. Since I’m assuming you have already figured out what foods hurt you specifically. I too have weight to lose, but after 7 weeks following both programs, have lost 18lbs. Good luck!

The times when I feel the thinnest and healthiest are when I’m enjoying life and passionately involved in my projects. The old saying “Eat to live, not live to eat,” is really wise. People (including me at times) who spend all day planning healthy meals and grocery shopping, etc., are probably using this behavior at least partly to escape from life. Simple food, YES. Purposely tasteless food, NO. Don’t do it.

nope, paleo is not a given. it is very individual. chicken breast and beef liver wont give you any food reward if you prepare them not to. wild salmon is good but twice a week is more than enough for a different reason. You are digging in the right direction but have a long way to get there. Just don’t stop learning and everything will come to you. So, trying to quit smoking can be a “nightmare” but does that mean one shouldn’t do so? I’m really failing to see the logic behind your statement. No one going paleo is “easy.” Any lifestyle change is not easy. I believe that what Chris is saying is that once you make the change to paleo, you aren’t constantly reading labels, adding up “points,” or slaving away on a treadmill for 2 hours at a time in order to lose weight.

Focus on eating fresh produce, whole grains, lean protein, low-fat dairy and small amounts of healthy fats. Eat lower-calorie foods that are rich in fiber, protein and/or water to help you fill up and stay full longer.

The most common food sensitivities within the Paleo realm are nuts & seeds, eggs, coconut products, and tapioca. Try playing around with those, in that order, if you think this is the culprit for you. If it’s none of those, then start weeding out all the foods you eat one by one.

  1. You also have to do your best to move your body more. That can mean taking the stairs instead of the elevator or even working extra hard at physical therapy. Do as much as you can, follow the other 3 steps and you will see the weight melt off.
    Make friends with good fats. Small amounts of fat can help you feel full and less like you’re on a diet. The better choices are those in fish, nuts, and seeds, and olive oil or coconut oils. Those have unsaturated fats — polyunsaturated or monounsaturated fats, specifically.
    Eat high quality, wild-caught fatty fish like salmon once or twice a week. These foods are rich in the super healthy EPA and DHA fatty acids, and also in vitamin D. If you cannot get your hands on good, wild-caught fish, try a fermented cod liver oil supplement.
