A health-care professional can accurately determine your TDEE with calculations based on your gender, age, weight, height and physical activity. According to Kansas State University, though, a quick estimate of your TDEE is 15 to 16 calories per pound of body weight. For example, if you weigh 150 pounds, you should consume between 2,250 and 2,400 calories per day. Track the calories you eat on your paleo diet to ensure you’re eating within your TDEE range to prevent weight loss. If you notice your weight dropping, increase your caloric consumption by 100 per week until you quit losing weight; do the opposite if you notice the numbers on the scale increasing.
