I’m an obese man (450lbs.) who’s on day five of a paleo diet. Once I told myself “it’s JUST food” and stopped viewing it as something that’d make me happy/fulfilled, sticking to a paleo diet– something I never would of imagined myself doing, even just a week ago– became very easy. I’m in a house full of foods I would of scarfed down in mass quantities just a week ago, but I’m not tempted in the slightest by them since my “epiphany”.

I’ve not heard this about dairy fat before. I’ve only heard that medium chain fatty acids (coconut oil) could be used almost immediately for energy. Would this not have a similar effect? I would really like an excuse to eat cheese though, so thank you (?).

My one reservation is that I know not how to source a viable variety and amount of unprocessed and wild food… at least my father in law grows organic vegetation. I am not a big fan of meat anyway… it’s my belief that animals should not be farmed. After all, they are spiritual beings, as are we. I wouldn’t want to be farmed for food.

Hi everyone.. I am getting a bit discouraged here since I feel like I am doing everything right and I am still struggling to lose weight and keep it off…I know these last 10 pounds are the hardest to lose but I am wondering if something else is to blame for the plateaus and recent weight increase after a weight loss.

I have decided that every other weekend I am going to have a paleo treat food. A paleo chocolate cake tasted l like heaven to me, though my husband and kids had to put real icing on it to enjoy. I froze the rest of the cake.

I think Tim’s examples are really his preferences. We are an adaptive species. The idea is to eat good, natural sources of protein, lots of veggies, and slow carbs. You can mix and match to your hearts desire and with whatever you have on hand.
