My concern now is I stopped taking the PGX and had a few cheats such as paleo dessert a couple weeks ago when I hosted a party,and last week I had more fruit than normal…I also increased my exercise. Day 46- I now am only at a 3 pound loss and weigh 132.4 lbs. I just don’t understand why I have gained 4.4 pounds back? It is all very frustrating to me. I stick to eating meat, vegetables, nuts, seeds, minimal fruit…
Instead of using that small splurge, or missed workout to blow it all, hit your “reset” button. Just get over it, we all splurge, using it as a crutch won’t help, and making up for it by skipping a meal is not a good idea either. Just hit your reset button and move on.

It may seem really silly to think that more carbs might help you lose weight, but if you’re not getting enough, you’re stressing your body out. I have decided that every other weekend I am going to have a paleo treat food. A paleo chocolate cake tasted l like heaven to me, though my husband and kids had to put real icing on it to enjoy. I froze the rest of the cake.
100% whole grains. Foods that are whole grains are high in fiber and some vitamins and minerals. Quinoa, oats, brown rice, millet, and 100% whole wheat pasta and bread are examples of whole grains to include in your diet. Limit your grains to about 1/2 cup or 1 oz per meal.

Diet diary: You are allowed one cheat meal a week when you are following the Metabolic Balance programme. My week of dieting perfection was rewarded with some of my favourite dishes: a chicken sandwich, chips and a Caesar salad, with an Oreo milkshake. I can’t finish all the plates, but I insist on getting a bite of all of them.

Meaning, if you’re a woman who’s height is 5’8″ and 125 lbs, don’t expect to lose 17 lbs to fit that little spaghetti black dress better, because you don’t need to do this diet, I’m sure you already make that dress look great at 125 lbs and honestly you could gain a few more lbs in my opinion. Like me for example, if I was 190 lbs and do this diet, I would probably lose 9-11 lbs max because my body fat would not be as high as it is at 220 lbs.
Laziness plays a bigger role in your food choices—both good and bad—than you might think, suggests another study published in Appetite. Undergraduates at Saint Bonaventure University in Upstate New York were separated into three groups: one that sat with apple slices within reach and buttered popcorn roughly six feet away, one with the popcorn within reach and the apple slices six feet away, and one with both snacks within reach. Even though the participants told the researchers they preferred to eat the popcorn over the apples, they ate whatever was nearest to them.

Thank you so much for this article. I truly believe that messages come to me when I most need them. I was feeling particularly down today about my results since going Paleo several months ago. What hit me most was what you said about exercising too much (and about eating 1,000 calories of cashews in a day — glad I am not alone!). As a six day a week exerciser I’m not sure I can go down to 3 days a week, but I will experiment for the next 30 days cutting down my workouts to 4x a week. Now, what to do with all that free time?
