The answer to your question is really subjective on you, your lifestyle, etc. I’m not trying to give a dodgy answer, but it’s really more trial and error than anything else. I’d like a answer, but I’ve found that it really varies from one person to another.
But if you are someone with an autoimmune condition (I have Hashimoto’s), gluten does really bad things to your body. So when I started my journey, I said to myself that I was going to give it 3 months. I figured I was good for 3 months of no bread. So I did, and you’re right, it wasn’t easy. It required a change in thinking. And at the end of 3 months, I ate bread. Yeah, I binged on sourdough (the good kind from Boudin SF, all crusty and delicious. Chili in a bread bowl. Yum.)
To avoid bad cravings, make sure you are eating balanced meals spread evenly throughout the day. Skipping meals or eating meals that are too small will cause cravings to be worse and result in overeating. Cutting out carbs will also make cravings worse, so make sure to include carbohydrates in each meal.

Simply try to eat 5 different types of vegetables every day. And 2 different fruits every day (don’t worry about what Tim says about fruit. You’re 14, you’re still growing. Fruit has vitamins and minerals for you. Or just stick to apples and bananas if you’re worried).
Add some meat to your breakfast, whether it be sausage, leftover burger, chicken, or whatever. Just get some more protein and fat – and some veggies would be nice, too – in there and see if you feel more energetic, more satiated, and have fewer cravings through the day. It’s better to add 200 calories to your breakfast in the form of meat and fat than it is to succumb to a Frapuccino craving every day at 3pm. Know what I mean?

I have no consequences, I’m lean and fit and have plenty of energy for workouts. My complaint with the articles is that it claims Paleo is easy and natural for everybody and that is just not the case.
I don’t think that I would do very well with this diet. I prefer to eat the majority of my calories through bread, pasta and rice. I have about a 5.5% body fat, and weigh about 140-145 pounds most of the year. I do run a lot, as well as cross train a lot; any time that I stop workout out, I lose weight too fast and have trouble getting it back. I like the concept, though, and will certainly plan some meals around it.

Wow, there is not a single recipe on here that doesn’t look good. I am so excited to have found this site! Hubs and I are trying to eat more natural, and so far every dinner for 2015 has been grain-free (or mostly grain-free). Avoid surroundings where you know you’re tempted to make poor food choices. Everyone has a time when we’re most likely to overeat, whether it’s the morning coffee break or after-work gathering with friends. Try to plan other activities or distractions for those times, or plan in advance how you’re going to handle them and stick to it.
I’ve been on the Paleo diet for 3 weeks and have lost 10 pounds by just eating eggs, meat and veggies. I eat protein/meat and veggies 6 days and have bread just once a week on day seven. That way I don’t feel deprived. Eating less sugar is so effective. I only use agave syrup and regular sugar not sweetener in my coffee with trader joes coconut creamer instead of coffee creamer. I feel full eating less of the carbs and sugar. This diet works!!! I’ve tried so many other diets but failed. I feel more full and have more energy plus I sleep better at night. Remember the less bad carbs and sugar the faster the weight will come off. Your body will burn your fat!!! Yes!! I’m sharing this diet with everyone. ??
