I am not sure if Taye on her January 17 querry got the right help. I have a diabetic condition and use ACV to manage my sugar levels. I however realised that when mixed with medication for diabetes it can lead to hypoglycemia. I recently googled symptoms of hypoglycemia and one of them is having nightmares. So Taye might be having very low levels of glucose due to ACV and possibly condition that does not correct the low levels i.e. diabetic condition or other condition

  1. I’ll cover that more below too, as it’s one of the pitfalls to avoid with successfully going paleo. If you’re worried about adherence to the diet, I understand – it’s the toughest part of Paleo – sticking with it!
    Nathalie – I’d say first of all, try to eat more frequently to get used to not letting your blood sugar get too low. That way you won’t have to go to ice cream extremes. Being on Paleo Plan might help your situation, honestly. It helps to keep you on track and on schedule. Also check into Dr. Richard Bernstein’s books. Try having (very) baked sweet potatoes on hand for low blood sugar moments to see if that works at all.
    I’ve contemplated on doing calorie count and paleo in the past. It’s just that I can’t be that productive at work if I’m too hungry starving myself whenever I strictly count the food that I eat. I realized that it could lead to some serious problem, if not my GI, then it has to be my job..lol.. Paleo sounds a good choice as you portion size every meal. But for those who eats small frequent meals with nutritionally dense food , say 5 meals a day, I think is unlikely to give you good results. I have these irritating hunger pangs, that’s why these two won’t work for me. So I made some research on how to control myself and lead me into taking an appetite suppressant. I asked a physician about it first, it’s imperative. I’m now using Liproxenol and I’m actually somehow doing just fine with it. I’ve managed my eating habit which is a good sign for me.
