“diets to lose weight in a week plan +losing weight after quitting diet soda”

Hang an old favorite dress, skirt, or a smokin’ pair of jeans where you’ll see them every day. This keeps your eyes on the prize. Choose an item that’s just a little too snug, so you reach this reward in a relatively short time. Then pull out last year’s cocktail dress for your next small, attainable goal.

I’m in week 2 of this diet, and I’ve had the same experience, too, NK! I lost 3.5lbs the first week, had my cheat day, gained 1.5 lbs, and 5 days later I’ve only lost .5lbs of the post-cheat weight. Help!

I don’t care how incorrect current measures are, its about consistency more than accuracy. Plug in your weight to a online calculator (or multiply lbs by 15 for a rough rule of thumb) for your maintenance level of calories and slash 500-1000 off of that to start losing (tweak the number to stablize fat loss at 1-2lbs a week for a healthy pace). Count everything that is consumed, every veggie, every snack.

Definitely. I found whenever I hit a plateau on a low-carb diet, gorging on carbs broke the plateau. Glad to see that Tim has researched that more thoroughly and found it to be more than just a fluke for me. Thanks, Tim!

I am 55 and have been eating Paleo for 6 months. My initial weight loss occurred after 1 month. The change, which is most important to me, is how I feel… Healthier over all, energetic, more muscle and less fat. My hair and skin are much more youthful as well. I have seen gradual improvement, which I like. It takes some time, to undo the damage done by years of eating grains. And I feel grains are the major culprit in causing all the issues I had with my health.

I believe low carb, paleo anything, is hard and sometimes slightly restrictive. Even being on low carb for 4 months in the past was very hard for me. Always hungry, never truly feeling satisfied. That could be some other problem though. I don’t know. But all I know is that I strongly believe the only way I could possibly lose some weight sitting on my ass is doing very very low carb. No bread or fruit or starch for me. It’s horrible. I don’t have any health problems so it’s basically just vanity with me. I pretty much don’t eat any carbs at all. You lose weight faster but it’s very tough. I was never fat growing up and I don’t plan on being fat much longer. I admit, I am taking the extreme route. Each to their own right?

Pumpkin Pie Smoothie – This smoothie tastes great anytime of year and is sure to make you love the rest of your afternoon. I recently sat down with Dr. Brian Wansink, professor at and director of the Cornell Food and Brand Lab.  He is also the author of Slim by Design, a guide that helps readers make simple design changes to promote healthier eating.  He told me that it is possible to lose weight without a diet.

This link is for response to “me”! As for never hearing about people dieing from someone who smokes weed. How about killing 14 people with a train collision as a result of the train operators getting high! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1987_Maryland_train_collision

Regular physical activity has so many proven benefits, such as to help control weight and blood pressure and decrease the risk for heart diseases and stroke. All healthy adults (ages 18 to 64) should get at least 2 hours and 30 minutes (150 minutes) of moderate-intensity aerobic physical activity (e.g., brisk walking) every week or 1 hour and 15 minutes (75 minutes) of vigorous intensity aerobic physical activity (e.g., jogging, running) every week.   Additionally, you need on 2 or more days a week muscle-strengthening activities.

Remember that you’ll be burning calories while doing daily activities such as walking around, walking up stairs, and even breathing. It won’t be many calories, but you don’t have to expect to burn all your calories doing hard exercise.

The paleo diet is an amazing place to start on a journey to the best version of yourself, but there is SO. MUCH. MORE. that goes into it. It’s not just about the diet, here. The paleo lifestyle encompasses so many facets of life, and all those habits could be the reason you’re not seeing the results you’d like to see.

I don’t recommend vegetable broth because this soup is already made of vegetables. And as for the chicken broth vs beef broth, if they have the same calories, proteins and fat than why not. As long as your broth is low fat or fat free, you’re golden.
