I have been able to keep my weight stable for over 7 years with ease. Most importantly, the way I look at food and nutrition has changed. I look at food as medicine now and love how when I eat a certain way, I feel great. What I love about the paleo diet is that it stresses eating unprocessed foods that are delicious and I am never hungry. There have been times where I have introduced grains like rice and quinoa back in my diet and have had stomach issues. Everyone is different and it is a definitely a process finding out what works for your body and what doesn’t… But feeling amazing and not being inflamed is well worth it!

I’m surprised at the number of people that care about the number on the scale. Kind of disappointed actually. How do you look and feel? I am also frustrated by weight gain, about 30 lbs. In 3 years! I am 50 yrs. old and at my highest weight EVER! I’ve seen many people at my gym lean out & get ripped eating paleo. I have tried low carb, higher carb, nothing helps. I even worked with a holistic nutrition coach for a month & lost a whopping 3 lbs. She had me eating no grains, sugar, (except for limited fruit), no eggs, nuts/seeds, nightshades, no dairy. It took 2 weeks before I lost ANYTHING. I was diagnosed with celiac 4 years ago. It’s been a steady gain ever since.

Something I’d like to point out as well is that recent studies have shown that the saturated fat in eggs and diary does NOT raise your risk of heart attack and stroke. They do raise LDL levels, but the LDL molecules are larger and don’t pose any risk.

Remember that you’ll be burning calories while doing daily activities such as walking around, walking up stairs, and even breathing. It won’t be many calories, but you don’t have to expect to burn all your calories doing hard exercise.
