My father and husband are military and we were stationed overseas in Germany, right on the border of Germany, the Netherlands and Belgium. I am Canadian and I grew up there. Now I live in the States. Also, just tell you a couple of things that I do that does Not change anything. I use butter flavored flakes, as well as butter flavored must (found near regular butters in store), for veggies, potatoes, etc. And Truvia for fruits if needed. Good Luck!

Interesting read. Having struggled to lose weight (on Paleo) for a number of years I think it is a far more complicated issue. I’ve just started my journey, but a big part of my issue is in my blood test results…

Every few months or so, a celebrity will make headlines by adopting a vegan diet and singing its praises. This is nothing new, and most of the time it isn’t really news, either. But when several world class athletes claim that going vegan has improved their game, increased their athleticism, and (drumroll) led to modest amounts of weight loss, the world takes notice.

This oversimplifies things because Fat is fat. If you are directly eating fat your body can still either use or store it as stored fat (bad by this articles logic). And it’s no different than a carb eventually turning into fat and being stored.

My concern exactly is the time issue. How are we supposed to prepare all of this food in a timely fashion? If you follow this plan how are you also supposed to have a normal work day? Do you think once we have the hang of it that the preparation would be easier?

Gosh, there are many wonderful insights here. But perhaps a little bit of biochemistry MAY clarify. Chris talks about using Paleo for weight loss. Most ‘diets’ are for weight/fat loss and the use of the word ‘diet’ means so much more than fat-loss for eg. getting-healthier thru better food choices;. Excess fat (obesity) is only one (of several) indicators that something is wrong here and we say its our food. In Paleo-times people were without any way to preserve food for extended periods of time and their method of transport meant that food variety (beyond wild-foraged) was limited. So the present-use of the word ‘Paleo’ is-a-tongue-in-cheek-bow-to-what-our-ancestors-actually did eat.

The concept of this diet is shocking your metabolism in the first few days where you go from high calorie intake to almost none. Your body goes in emergency mode sort to speak and has to get the missing calories from somewhere (body fat). If you do exercise then you will burn muscles instead of body fat.

no, paleo is not a high fat diet, this is not ketogenics which is dangerous for diabetics. is a high protein (high meaning your larger macro %) moderate fats, and picky carbs (carbs from plants, particularly with high fiber content). Sylina is correct about protein breaking down into glucose if there is too much of a surplus though.

So, with the Military or American Heart Association Three Day Diet plan menu and the 3-Day Detox Plan, you can easily burn all that extra fat and calories. Make sure to follow the specified points while performing these diet plans. The Military or AHA 3-Day Diet plan provides amazing results, so let us know of your experiences in this regard.

Best advice’s I can give you are, from day 1 early morning to day 8 early morning, leave your scale alone. And from what you’ve said, I think you’re not drinking enough to help evacuate your body fat.

Conversely, of course, if you’re not exercising at all, or doing just a little bit low impact exercise (walking – even really quickly ;), your body could just need a kick in the pants. Sometimes a bit of intense weight lifting, sprints, or some kind of high intensity interval training (CrossFit-type workouts) is just what your insulin levels and muscle fibers need to get things moving.
