great discussion. a paleo template is a great plan to do the best for good health. it takes personal tolerance for food and likes into consideration with resultant improved health and gradual weight loss. after all, all that extra weight we are lugging around with us was not gained in a week or two but. over a considerable time whilst we ate more than we needed of food which was nowhere near real or natural. I have been on paleo for approx 3 years due to medical conditions – gluten intolerance soy and dairy allergy – and now i am so much healthier – no joint pain less digestive pain and problems and I am gradually shedding the last six kilos my heart specialist advised me to lose and this would bring me to my best weight for my height and body build. I find that paleo is very straight forward to follow and very free-ing – no calorie counting or weighing portions of food. and. no constant counting of points and preoccupation with food all day. overall I have lost 27 kilos over two years and have kept it off and am still losing gradually – I do tai chi, shi bashi. and weight training

Hi Jess, I want to loose weight and my partner with his ridiculously fast metabolism needs to gain weight – any suggestions of what I can add in to his meals to achieve this? He believes he needs a bucket load of processed carbs but I beg to differ as I want to avoid this.
Does anyone have a shopping list for all of this? all 14 days worth all in one shopping list. Would rather buy it all in bulk in one single trip and then I can take advantage of any multi-buy offers if needed – I keep seeing list after list of daily plans but no shopping list, I have to go through it all and spend hours to find each ingredient amount into a spreadsheet and add it all together and buy the corresponding pack of each thing to the right size as required – often realising that it will cost me more than £200 a month just for the food and then refuse to do the diet because of the cost, for the unemployed this is way too expensive.

Neely would you consider putting a calorie count on your recipes? I think that eating some Paleo foods can be deceiving sometimes and it would be good to have a guide. I’ve tried using My Fitness Plan but it will only give me suggested recipes for your recipes which are guesstimates. Or would you consider teaming up with MFP to get your recipes up there? Thanks for posting! I was feeling a little insane because I kept hearing how people just lost tons of weight really fast on paleo and its been a very slow process for me. I have been happier to find that is not the case for everyone. I’m in fully to this eating about 6 weeks now and its been slow going. But I’m lifting heavy weights a couple times a week and getting stronger each time, so I know the scale is not always going to go down since I’m gaining muscle. But its sometimes hard when the media (like big name TV shows) only care about how far the scale has gone down.
